Courses offered

Besides four under graduate courses namely BVSc & AH, BTech (Food Technology), BTech (Poultry Production Technology) and BTech (Dairy Technology), the University also offers post graduate courses namely MVSc in 22 disciplines, MTech (Food Technology), PhD in 20 disciplines of animal and veterinary sciences and PhD in Food Technology. In addition, the University also offers various Postgraduate Diploma Courses, MPhil in Biotechnology and MBA in Food and Livestock Business Management.

PG Diploma in Business Management (Animal & Fisheries Sciences) The duration of the course is one year comprising of two semesters. It is a part time programme, offered in evening times. The objectives of the course are to equip the graduates with the required conceptual and interpersonal skills and social purpose for managerial decision making and implementation. Last Week of July
Eligibility for admission is possession of UG degree in the disciplines of science or arts with an OGPA of 3.0/4.0 in Trimester system, 7.0/10.0 in semester system or 50% of marks in conventional system. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the qualifying system is sufficient.
PG Diploma in Bioinformatics The duration of course is one year comprising of two semesters. The aim of the course is to provide high quality postgraduate training in Bioinformatics, which meets the needs of fields of Biotechnology, Genetics, Pharmaceuticals, Biochemical and Dairy Industries for Research and Development. Last Week of July
Eligibility for admission is possession of a UG degree such as BVSc, BVSc & AH, BFSc, BSc (Ag.), BSc (Hort), BE, BTech, MBBS, BDS, MSc, MCA or a postgraduate degree with Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Biophysics / Botany / Zoology / Biology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Computer Science / Statistics of any recognized University.
PG Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis The duration of the course is one year comprising of two semesters. The objectives of the course are to enhance the technical skill of the graduates to work in the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory to response in emergencies like animal disease outbreaks. Last Week of July
Eligibility for admission is possession of a UG degree such as BVSc / BVSc & AH degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply with an OGPA of 3.0/4.0 in trimester system or 7.0/10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system.
PG Diploma in Companion Animal Practice The duration of the course is one year comprising of two semesters. This diploma would encompass small animal medicine, surgery and reproduction with special emphasis on developing practical skills and would help to equip the veterinarian in managing surgical, medical and reproductive problems affecting small animals. The global scenario requires that a practicing veterinarian should possess sufficient knowledge in latest advancements in small animal surgery, medicine and reproduction comparable to international standards. Hence, a clinical training in advances in these fields has become the need of the hour. It is with these ideas the course is prepared. Last Week of July

Full time bachelor degree holders – Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science, Home science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Science. Students who have bachelor degree through correspondence are not eligible.
