• Candidates possessing a B.V.Sc. & A.H., / B.F.Sc. degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply.
• Only 75% of the admission strength for the year is available for the candidates from Tamil Nadu (the remaining 25% is reserved for candidates from other states through ICAR). If there are any unfilled seats under the state quota, the same will be filled with candidates from other states who have applied and appeared for the entrance examination conducted by the University.
• Candidates who have studied under conventional system should possess a minimum of 55% marks. Candidates with an OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 7.0 out of 10.0 or 70% aggregate under semester pattern alone are eligible to apply for admission to M.V.Sc., / M.F.Sc., degree programme. Candidates who have passed B.V.Sc., & A.H., degree under the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) regulations should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks. For SC/ST candidates a minimum pass is sufficient.

• Candidates with an OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 7.0 out of 10.0 under semester system or 70% aggregate in their Master’s degree alone are eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. degree programme in Veterinary and Fisheries Sciences. For SC/ST candidates a minimum pass is enough.
• Only 75% of the admission strength for the year is available for the candidates from Tamil Nadu. The remaining 25% is reserved for candidates from other states. If there are any unfilled seats under State Quota, the same will be filled up with candidates of other states. All candidates should apply and appear for the entrance examination conducted by the university.

• Candidates with basic B.V.Sc. & A.H., degree and Master’s degree in the concerned field of specialization from a recognized University shall alone be eligible to apply (except Animal Biotechnology).

Animal Biotechnology :- Candidates with M.V.Sc., degree course in any field of specialization (except Animal Husbandry Economics, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension and Animal Husbandry Statistics) or M.Sc., degree in Biotechnology with basic
B.V.Sc. & A.H., degree recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible.

• Candidates with basic B.F.Sc. degree and Master’s degree in Fisheries Science or any other degree recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply.
  

A candidate with Masters degree in Science in the disciplines of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Gene Technology, Animal Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Marine Biology and Fisheries Sciences (except Fisheries Economics and Fisheries Extension) from a recognized university or any other degree recognized as equivalent thereto shall apply.

Candidates with an OGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.0 out of 10.0 under semester system or 60% aggregate in Masters degree shall alone apply. For SC/ST candidates a minimum pass is sufficient.

A graduate with any one of the following qualifications: B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Sc.(Agri.), B.Sc.(Horti.), B.E., B.Tech., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., M.Sc., MCA or postgraduate degree with Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Biophysics / Botany / Zoology / Biology/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Computer Science/ Statistics of any recognized University with OGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in trimester system or 7.0 out of 10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC/ ST candidates. Admissions open to other state candidates also.

Candidates possessing a B.V.Sc. & A.H., degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply with OGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 in trimester system or 7.0 out of 10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system.
A minimum pass is sufficient for SC/ ST candidates.

Candidates possessing a B.F.Sc., B.V.Sc., B.Sc. (Dairy Science), B.Sc. (Agi.), B.Sc. (Horti.), B.Sc. (Home Science) of four years duration, B.Tech (Food Technology) or Post-Graduate degree with Food Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Marine Biology / Coastal Aquaculture / Home Science of any recognized University with OGPA 3.00 / 4.00 in trimester or OGPA 7.0 / 10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC/ST candidates.

• Registration fee: Rs.500/- for other Communities and Rs.250/- for SC/ST for each course.
• Registration fee will be accepted only by means of crossed demand draft payable at Chennai. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the “FINANCE OFFICER, TANUVAS, CHENNAI- 600 051”. Demand draft drawn prior to 10.08.2009 will not be accepted.
• Separate application forms should be used for M.V.Sc. / M.F.Sc., Ph.D. (Veterinary) / Ph.D. (Fisheries) and M.Phil Biotechnology / PG Diploma in Bioinformatics / Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis / Companion Animal Practice / Wild Animal Disease Management / Fish Quality Management
• Candidates are requested to send a self-addressed envelope (size: 15x10 cm) stamped for Rs.5/- along with application.
• Applications received without Registration fee will not be accepted.
• Applications received after the due date will summarily be rejected.
• The University will not be responsible for any postal delay.
• Filled in application and Hall ticket along with Registration fee (in the form of Demand Draft) should reach the “Chairman, Admission Committee (PG), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-600 051 on or before 04.09.2009, 5.45 p.m.
