VETERINARY COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NAMAKKAL
A total of 280 students (both B.V.Sc and M.V.Sc) are availing about Rs.13.65 lakhs by Government of Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University scholarship. A sum of Rs.1.19 lakh was exempted towards payment of tuition fees to the SC / ST students. Nine alumni of this Institute have been selected as Agricultural Research Scientists in ICAR. So far 15 graduates from this institute, have been selected for UPSC and Group I services. The internship training programme is conducted at Madras Veterinary College, Chennai for clinical training and farm training at Livestock Research Station, Kattupakkam and Poultry Research Station, Nandanam, Chennai.
The Veterinary College and Research Institute, has been accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi for five years from 14-08-2001.
