ACHIEVEMENTS/ EXCELLENCE
Education
- Multimedia video programme for amphibian experiments was developed
- Developing e-content for endocrinology and reproduction chapters of physiology for undergraduate education
Research
- Standardized methods for analysing fatty acid profile (feed, milk, meat and egg), vitamin E and selenium (feed, blood and egg)
- Progesterone impregnated vaginal sponge was designed and developed for inducing estrus in anestrus buffaloes and all the treated animals exhibited estrus
- Omega3:omega6 fatty acids at 1:5 achieved and total omega-3 fatty acids content were doubled than commercial eggs and meat. by including linseed, bajra, fish meal and their combination in poultry feed
- Chromium and selenium content of Azolla pinnata were enriched for including in poultry feed to boost immunity and antioxidants status of chickens.
- Defaunation using unrefined rice bran oil per os once in week improved weight gain of lambs
CURRENT FOCUS
- Inducing estrus in anestrus dairy animals
- Application of nanotechnology in veterinary science
- Offering consultancy services for analysis of fatty acid profile
