DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY EPIDEMIOLOGY AND PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
The Department of Preventive Medicine, the first of its kind in a veterinary college was established in 1936. The postgraduate course in the subject was started in 1962. Till date 65 candidates acquired Masters degree in Preventive Medicine, in Veterinary Public Health and 30 doctorate degrees in Preventive Medicine.

The department is currently engaged in evolving weather based animal disease forecast, epidemiological studies on emerging diseases and studies on zoonotic diseases.
