The of this laboratory are:
- Rendering service to the livestock farmers and entrepreneurs in the rapid diagnosis of toxicological problems.
- Rapid detection of mycotoxins and pesticide residues in livestock feeds, fodder, biospecimens etc. with an idea to promote quality conscious livestock products free from toxic residues.
- Testing for following mycotoxin residues
- Aflatoxin B1
- Multitioxin like Ochratoxin – A, T2 toxin & Citrinin Testing for pesticide residues mainly BHC residue.
This laboratory is also involved in generation of database on the status of toxic residues in meat, milk, egg, animal feed and fodder.
- Thin layer chromatography - For mycotoxins (Aflatoxins, Ochratoxin, T2 Toxin Citrinin and Penicillic acid) and for pesticides orgahochlorine compounds in feedstuff.
- Gas Chromatography - For detection of Organochlonine compounds in feed and feedstuff and biospecimens.
- 10 am to 5.45 pm on all working days
Testing for Aflatoxin B1 - Rs. 200/- sample
Testing for Multitoxin - Rs. 200/- sample
Testing for Pesticides - Rs. 200/- sample
