- To provide latest technical knowledge on livestock and poultry farming to practicing farmers and entrepreneurs.
- To solve the practical problems of livestock and poultry farmers.
- To act as a two way channel between the farmers and laboratory.
The centre aim at imparting training on various livestock and poultry farming activities and dissemination of scientific know-how to the target groups population to augment their income generating activities and enhance their livelihood and nutritional status.
A total of 49 on campus and 19 off campus training programmes were conducted by the centre benefiting a total of 1264 persons.
With the financial assistance from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Kancheepuram 135 Self help group women were trained in dairy and sheep farming under SGSY scheme.
They continue to get technical assistance from the centre in management of their livestock.
This centre cater to me needs of practicing farmers, farm women, unemployed youth, Self help group and entrepreneurs in the areas of livestock and poultry farming through various training programme and technology dissemination.
