- Rearing and broodstock development of spiny lobsters (University research project).
- Growth, maturation and spawning of the blue crab, Portunus pelagicus (Univ.Research Project)
Potential fishing zone satellite data received from Indian National Centre for Oceans Information services are disseminated to fisherfolk.
- A study on squids and cuttlefishes of Tuticorin coast showed that four species viz L. duvauceli, L. lessoniana, D. sibogae and S. inermis have been exploited beyond the MSY level.
- Clove oil has been found to be an effective anesthetic for ornamental fishes at 20ppm. It can be used as sedative at 5 to 10 ppm concentration.
